Last year’s trip to spread the word of Hot Chocolate 15/5k San Diego was a blast since our head Chocolate Ambassadors were able to escape the 25 degrees in Chicago, very similar to this January’s weather. This being the second year we’re having a race 15/5k race in San Diego (just 25 miles south of Carlsbad) we’re expecting a big turnout on March 24th, 2013. It’s a gorgeous yet hilly city and it seems like there’s always people running or biking or hiking to get someplace. The forecast shows highs in the low-mid 70s and a cool 65 for the weekend. February in San Diego sounds a lot like Chicago in mid-June. Either way, it will be perfect for any west-coasters looking for some pre-race cocoa!

Carlsbad Expo 2The serving permits are in, the truss is en route and all the bags are packed. Josiah can’t wait to be soaking up that sunshine and working in shorts while the rest of the HC crew is back home shivering and defrosting their windows.

This will be the first of many race expos for 2013 as we grow our Hot Chocolate race calendar and add another 3…4…5… cities for next season. What exactly do we do on the road at these Expos? We spread that chocolate love! Our booth is the sweetest 20’ x 10’ party section you have ever seen with Music, free giveaways, and (of course) chocolate. It’s the pre-game for your over-the-top ever-so-delicious Hot Chocolate Post Race Party experience.
