Walk for Special Olympics Chicago

The Walk for Special Olympics Chicago is a 2 mile untimed walk that starts after the Hot Chocolate 5k/15k race. Please note that Walk participants will enjoy a different start time, course, and finish line than the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k. Walk for Special Olympics Chicago participants will not be able to start/race/finish with 5k/15k participants.

Special Olympics transforms lives through the joy of sport, every day, everywhere. They are the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities: with more than 4.5 million athletes in 170 countries -- and millions more volunteers and supporters. They are also a global social movement. Visit their website to learn more about the athletes!

Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. Special Olympics athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment -- on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential.
