Our mission at RAM Racing is not only to raise funds to support our official charities but also to promote, raise awareness and support the mission of the organization.
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish® is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and 33,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish® has granted more than 285,000 wishes to children in the U.S. and its territories; more than 15,300 in 2016 alone. Your support can help grant wishes for kids like Christian.
No medical journey for a child with a critical illness is easy. For Euless, TX resident Christian, being the first-ever teen to be diagnosed with a PPTID malignant brain tumor was no different. From the diagnosis and questions that arose, to the grueling treatments and absence of everyday normalcy, Christian was in need of something to help him fight through the unimaginable circumstance he was facing.
“I believe my wish had a huge part of my healing,” Christian said. “There were days that were hard. I was able to push through those days because I was looking forward to my wish.”
Christian’s wish to go to Hawaii not only served as a motivator to fight and reprieve from all that he endured, but also allowed his family to feel like a family again.
“My mom was brought to tears just seeing a smile on my face. It was a wish for me, but it was rehabilitating for them too. We all got to take a deep breath.”
Since his wish, Christian has passionately represented Make-A-Wish®, speaking on the news and at events like the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k. We are overjoyed to report that Christian is currently in remission.
