Our mission at RAM Racing is not only to raise funds to support our official charities but also to promote, raise awareness and support the mission of the organization.
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish® is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and 33,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish® has granted more than 285,000 wishes to children in the U.S. and its territories; more than 15,300 in 2016 alone. Your support can help grant wishes for kids like Arlo.
When Northern Arizona resident Arlo thought about his wish, he had a pretty clear idea of what it would look like. He wanted to go on a big cruise ship and swim in the ocean.
Arlo enjoyed wearing his own captain’s hat and touring the ship to see how it operates. But even during his wish, Arlo still faced a dose of reality every morning and every night.
Arlo’s wish trip wouldn’t be complete without some remarkable excursions off the ship, like driving around the island of Maui, seeing Rainbow Falls in Hilo and snorkeling in Kona.
“He needs breathing treatments two times a day for his cystic fibrosis,” said Arlo’s mom. “Arlo can do his treatments by himself now, but he is just 11 years old and this trip gave him the chance to enjoy being a kid again by doing the things he loves.”
