Our mission at RAM Racing is not only to raise funds to support our official charities but also to promote, raise awareness and support the mission of the organization.
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish® is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and 33,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish® has granted more than 285,000 wishes to children in the U.S. and its territories; more than 15,300 in 2016 alone. Your support can help grant wishes for kids like Jack.
Up until August 2016, 15-year-old Mill Valley resident Jack lived a typical life. Then everything changed. Within months of discovering a problem with his bone marrow, he’d had a port inserted into his chest, started chemotherapy, endured multiple blood transfusions, spent Christmas in the hospital, and lost his hair.
Saved by a bone marrow donation from a stranger on the opposite side of the world, Jack wanted to record a public service announcement asking people to become bone marrow donors. That was his wish. On average, it takes 430 registered donors before one goes on to donate. For people like Jack with Asian heritage, it can be even harder to find a match. Sign up to be a bone marrow donor!
